ABOUT

OVERALL ABILITY ON THE COURT:
During my career I have been recognized as a strong, resilient and disciplined athlete with a unique aggressive tennis style. Characterized by a flat strong forehand placed down the baseline, make uncomfortable any opponent, and is perfect for making winners from any place of the court. Also, a consistent backhand, good serve accuracy and offensive/defensive slice allows me to adapt against different players. In the other hand, a good physical condition and high endurance also allows me to stand in court for a long period of time.

RESUME:
My first contact with tennis was when I was 6 years old, when I saw a professional tennis match on tv because no one in my family ever played it. Watching it through television awakened curiosity about how could I perform and how would I feel inside a court so I started playing tennis at the age of 7, at the “club de tenis el campin” in Bogota, Colombia. Since the first moment I grabbed the racquet and hit the ball I fell in love with this sport and became really passionate with it. After practicing on weekend during three years, at the age of 10 started practicing it at high performance, training 4 days a week with a coach on the same tennis club. 

After two years practicing and participating in local informal tournaments I began playing in national Colombian circuit. Discipline, resilience and a lot of hard work allowed me to be among top 20 players in national Colombian ranking, leading up to position number 16 in this ranking in the 16-year-old category. Along the years I have participated in other international tournaments of ITF circuit, like for example J2 Bogota and J3 Barranquilla.

I graduate from school “Liceo de Colombia Bilingüe” at the age of 17 years old in 2022 and continued participating in national and international tournaments during 2023 while I started studying Industrial Engineering in “Universidad Distrital Francisco Jose de Caldas”. Then, in 2024 I changed from previous university to EAN university and took part with the team in conference University tournaments, ending up as champion in ASCUN doubles category and Cerros single category.

Since the beginning of my career I have been recognized as a disciplined athlete and student, studying during morning and training after noon

HOBBIES AND PERSONAL INTEREST
I recognize myself as a curious person with interest in global topics such as technology and biology findings. Also, looking over economic and politic events of the day is part of my daily routine. Reading books is not excluded, I like crime and mystery literature, particularly Agatha Christie’s books. For me, spending time with friends is also important, and practicing other sports such as basketball and volleyball with friends is important as it helps in relaxing mind, developing social skills, and learning to work in a team. 

DESCRIBE YOUR SELF AS A PERSON
I am a responsible and dedicated person, in capacity of taking important decisions and managing pressure. I am also conscious about the sacrifice goals and dreams require to be fulfilled, that’s why I became so disciplined and focused when an objective is set. I also understand the key roll soft skills play in daily life in order to be more than a good student and athlete. What I want in life is to always keep moving forward in any circumstance, surrounded by people who is important for me.
